Asset Management

Transit asset management plans are required for all Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grantees per Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st century (MAP-21) legislation. The benefits from enhanced asset management practices include improved safety and reliability, reduced costs, performance, better customer service, and optimized resource allocation.

Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP-21) requires transportation agencies to develop a Transit Asset Management (TAM) program including a comprehensive Asset Management Policy, Strategy, and Plan.

Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) involves the management of the maintenance of physical assets of an organization throughout each asset’s lifecycle. EAM is used to plan, optimize, execute, and track the needed maintenance activities with the associated priorities, skills, materials, tools, and information. Trainings

Our vast knowledge and experience with Asset Management software systems have allowed us to demonstrate a pivotal role in successfully implementing Trapeze, Maximo, and Infor systems at various public transit agencies. We conduct Business Process Analysis, field equipment -inventory and -database registration, recommend training methods and develop documentation to support superuser and end-user procedures within these software systems. We apply industry best practices to support the organization’s goal to optimize the utilization of these Asset Management software systems to make data-driven maintenance decisions, accomplish status and metrics reporting, prioritize capital investments, and accomplish required FTA NTD reporting Configuration and collection of required data fields make it possible to fulfill NTD reporting, including on the A-30: Revenue Vehicle Inventory Form, A-35: Service Vehicle Inventory Form, A-15: Facility Inventory, A-20: Transitway Mileage Form, and A-90: Transit Asset Management Performance Measures Target Form.

CRBS’s Asset Management Inventory Support Tool

The Moving Ahead for Progress in the Act (MAP-21) created rules to improve public transportation by monitoring and managing assets. This leads to enhanced safety, reliability, performance, cost reduction, customer service improvement, and resource optimization. CodeRed Business Solutions offers expertise in developing Transit Asset Management Plans, conducting asset inventories and condition assessments, and modifying maintenance management systems to meet MAP-21 requirements. After extensive research, we discovered a lack of existing tools that adequately fulfilled the requirements set forth by MAP-21 and National Transit Database (NTD) reporting. In response, CRBS developed a specialized tool to address this specific need.

Introducing the Asset Management Inventory Support Tool, a cutting-edge web-based application designed by CodeRed Business Solutions Inc. This efficient tool saves time by enabling users to capture asset information directly at the asset’s physical location. Not only does it offer real-time data capture capabilities, but it also incorporates Geo-Information System (GIS) technology to accurately record the inspection’s geographic location.
