CodeRed Business Solutions Inc. (CRBS) is a certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and a certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with experience supporting organizations in Public Transportation and Public Utilities. We’re a minority and veteran-owned business certified in 13 states across the US. We currently have four locations: Boston, MA; Atlanta, GA; Los Angeles, CA and our headquarters resides in New York City, NY.

Our mission is to enable our customers to build successful in-house change management capabilities through a holistic approach to support sustainable solutions. CodeRed has years of experience in Strategic Asset Management, and Digital Transformation (capital prioritization, cost-reduction activities, Ready-for-Operations capabilities, and business process transformation to focus on asset performance). CodeRed Business Solutions Inc. has also supported similar efforts with the New York Power Authority during their Asset Management Plan development.

CRBS has provided Asset Management support services to the MBTA as a partner of two prime contractors during the past two years. These services included Trapeze implementation and training support for the Vehicle Maintenance Division and Tableau Dashboard development for Engineering and Maintenance Directorate. In addition, CRBS provided staff augmentation support to the Commuter Rail Division. The MBTA initiated this contract to support Boston’s Commuter Rail division’s ability to track the purchase of spare parts utilized to maintain MBTA Commuter Rail cars. One of the critical features of this contract was to develop procedures/SOPs for using Trapeze EAM software to confirm/verify the use of parts ordered by maintenance personnel to repair commuter rail cars. Furthermore, CodeRed personnel confirmed the tagging and return of valuable unserviceable parts to the appropriate manufacturer for rehabilitation and transition to a serviceable condition. 

CRBS was the prime contractor the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) selected to perform asset management research to develop a complete hierarchical structure for all physical assets owned and operated by a transit system. CRBS was the prime contractor in developing Asset Management Plans for St Louis Metro, Charlette Area Transit System (CATS). CRBS has also provided asset management support to New York’s Metropolitan Transit Authority, Long Island Railroad, Boston MBTA, Chicago CTA, Denver RTD, and New York Power Authority.

The services we provide are proven and sustainable. CodeRed Business Solutions Inc. works diligently and collaboratively with our customers to maximize efficiencies in operations and maintenance. We are ‘boots on the ground’ with many years of real-life experience managing operations and maintenance of transit systems and public utility organizations. We emphasize infusing Reliability Center Maintenance (RCM) and Predictive Maintenance techniques to increase the reliability and sustainability of critical assets. CRBS is focused on analysis-based decision-making to deliver excellence in service delivery to the public.

Personnel at CodeRed Business Solutions Inc. (CRBS) successfully developed and implemented a sustainable RCM program at St. Louis Metro that was recognized as an industry best practice on page 48958 of the October 2016 Federal Register (https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2016-07-26/pdf/2016-16883.pdf). The maintenance effort led to unparalleled reliability and significant improvement in the transit system’s capital and operating expenses. CRBS has supported the implementation of RCM for Cleveland’s Healthline Bus Rapid Transit system, which has seen reliability improvement approaching 400%.

Mildred Chua

Executive Director, Asset Management & Business Transformation
 

Ms. Chua is a retired executive from New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority with over 30 years of experience in the transportation industry as a recognized leader, innovator and advisor in finance, strategic planning, asset and performance management, infrastructure program management, business and digital transformation.  She brings strategic systems thinking and leadership to drive positive business outcomes by integrating finance with operations through best-practice asset management.  She participates in various professional forums in leadership including the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) and the Asset Leadership Network (ALN). 

Steven Adkins

Northeast Division Operations Manager

Mr. Adkins brings over 20 years of extensive experience in passenger rail rolling stock maintenance and operation. He embarked on his career in rolling stock maintenance at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) as a dedicated light rail repairer. Throughout his tenure at MBTA, Mr. Adkins progressed through various positions, showcasing his expertise and leadership in the field.
