Responsible for directing and overseeing the overall activities of personnel engaged in Light Rail and Streetcar operations for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit's (DART) Rail Operation Division. Directs rail operating processes to ensure division goals and objectives are met. Provides direct, day-to-day support of division activities. Establishes goals, objectives, work programs and measurements to assure that the division activities align and support the achievement of Agency and Departmental goals. Ensures effective communication within the division, and with other DART divisions, member cities, state and federal agencies, DARTs customers and the community in general. Provides oversight and support necessary to effectively integrate Light Rail Train and Streetcar expansion programs into existing systems.

Establish work standards and schedules and ensure their effective implementation in the unit; assign work to employees and train employees in work procedures and methods; review employees work for adequacy and take steps to correct inadequate performance; approves employees’ work schedules and time reports. Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, rules, regulations and laws. Coordinate with the project management consultant’s resident engineer to ensure adherence to schedules. Served as the Acting Superintendent. Supervised Light Rail Controllers in the Operations Control Center (OCC). Coordinated and assisted in the training of current and new Light Rail Controllers.
